Vancouver’s First Non GMO Show

GMO

Natures Path Organic Foods is hosting Vancouver’s first Non Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) food show on January 17 & 18 th at the Vancouver Convention Centre at Canada place, along with the gluten free show.

GMO are organisms whose genetic (DNA) makeup has been altered using genetic engineering techniques; allowing for the introduction of new traits that would not normally occur in nature. Genetically Modified Foods (GMF) are foods produced from an organism who have DNA changes from genetic engineering. GM foods are designed to resist drought, weeds, pests , improve nutrient profile of some foods and solve world hunger.

With more than 70 percent of packaged foods containing GMO ingredients more and more consumer’s are demanding a right to know what is in their food. The shows goal is to educate people about GMO foods, potential long term health and environmental impacts of GMO foods.  The show will feature a range of knowledgeable speakers, as well as numerous vendors sharing their non GMO products.

You can purchase tickets at the door for $ 15, children under 10 are free. For more information including a list of speakers and vendors check out their website www.nongmoshow.com .
